Change in America

It is a nationwide citizen-driven project to identify the best ideas for change in America. After the submission of 7,875 ideas and 675,943 votes, a community emerged to fight for the implementation of the top 10 ideas

Who's behind it? Change.org, an online community and media network for social issues in partnership with more than 50 leading organizations (like MySpace, Student PIRGs, Voto Latino), and a number of leading blogs writing about social issues.

How does it work?

Step 1: Change.org accepted ideas.

Step 2: The top 3 rated ideas from each of nearly 30 issue categories qualified for the second and final voting round

Step 3: Final voting round.

Step 4: Event at the National Press Club in Washington, DC to announce the top 10 rated ideas and then launch a national campaign to mobilize the collective energy of the millions of organizations members to ensure that each winning idea gets the full consideration of the Obama Administration and Members of Congress.

Amount the top ten ideas we find:

á        Support Higher Education for All Students,

á        Appoint Secretary of Peace in Department of Peace and Non-Violence,

á        Make the grid green in 10 years,

á        Free Single Payer Health Care,

á        Develop & Implement a National Strategy for Sustainability.
